A: Waxy Moon offers per diem salon suite rental in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood for $55 per day, billed monthly by days booked. For example, four Fridays in a month would be $220 for that month.
Q: Is there affordable salon space for new esthetician graduates in Seattle?
A: Yes. Waxy Moon offers a fully equipped treatment room available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday specifically designed as a stepping stone for newly licensed estheticians. The $55 per day rate allows new grads to build their clientele in a professional space without the prohibitive upfront cost of outfitting their own suite.
Q: What is included in the salon suite rental at Waxy Moon?
A: Included is full use of the treatment room, treatment table, towel warmer, wax and sugar warming pots including the patented Mella professional warmer, and all room equipment and utilities. Renters supply their own service products, gloves, and linens.
Q: What licenses do I need to rent the salon suite at Waxy Moon?
A: Renters must hold a valid Washington State esthetician, cosmetology, or massage therapy license and a Washington State business license. A 6-month lease agreement is required.
Q: Can massage therapists or lash artists rent the suite at Waxy Moon?
A: Yes. While the space is equipped for hair removal services including sugaring and waxing, it is equally suitable for lash artists and massage therapists. Facial equipment is not provided.
Q: Is there mentorship available for new estheticians renting at Waxy Moon?
A: Renters have access to April Bartlett, a 18-year industry veteran and founder of the patented Mella professional warmer, as a resource for business and technique questions via text. Hands-on training is offered separately through the Waxy Moon advanced sugaring training program.
Q: Can I get sugared pregnant?
A: Of course this is ultimately answered between you and your doctor. I have sugared many pregnant women over the years right up to delivery day.
Q: Can I get sugared while I'm on my period?
A: Yes. I sugar clients on their period pretty much every day. It's no big deal. If you can wear a tampon that is helpful.
