How the Session Works
Sessions are small by design — a maximum of 3 students, each bringing their own live model (who remains your client before, during, and after).
Each student performs one full brazilian service on their model while April observes and coaches in real time. Then you watch your fellow students do theirs — asking questions throughout, seeing different bodies, different challenges, different technique moments.
By the end, you've performed one service and observed two more with expert commentary on all three.
Depending on the group, sessions run 1-3 hours. This is not a lecture. This is real work on real clients.
A note on privacy: Your client's comfort comes first. Some clients are happy to have other students present — others prefer privacy. You'll confirm your client's preference ahead of time. If your client wants privacy during their own service, that's fully respected — and something to discuss with your model before booking.

Don't have time to travel for a class, or can't find a model? No problem — I'll come to your salon instead.
Book an onsite session and I'll work directly with you in your own treatment room, with your own clients. Line up your trickiest cases — the services you've been struggling with or avoiding — and we'll work through them together in real time. There's no better way to learn than solving your actual problems, in your actual space, with your actual clients.
How it works: You book a minimum 2-hour block. I come to you, observe and coach you through your services, and answer every question in the moment. No model to find, no travel for you, no time out of your salon.
Onsite session rates:

Who is this for / Who is this not for
This training is for you if: You are a licensed esthetician, cosmetologist, or esthetics student who already knows how to sugar and has performed brazilian sugaring services. You're not learning from scratch — you're leveling up.
This training is not for you if: You wax but haven't learned sugaring technique. The hand movements are fundamentally different and this training assumes you already have that foundation.

My name is April Bartlett
I've been specializing in brazilian sugaring since 2008. My average service time is 7-10 minutes for a full brazilian — and I run a high-volume salon every week. I also invented and patented the Mella professional wax warmer, which I use in my own salon daily, because I believe the tools matter as much as the technique.
I was named one of Dermascope's Top 10 Skin Saviors of 2021 and have been featured twice in Skin Inc. magazine. I don't lead with that to impress you — I mention it so you know this training comes from someone the industry has recognized, not just someone who decided to start teaching.
I keep groups small on purpose. You're not sitting in a row watching a demo. You're working.
